Meet our beautiful :LTDF Angel Destiny. She was just 4 years old when she had to put her brave face on and kick cancers butt. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. She had a large tumor in her abdomen and on October 12, 2006 she had surgery to perform a biopsy. Early the next morning, on October 13, she suffered a stroke. She was put in PICU and put on a ventilator. Her family was told she may never walk or talk again. But Destiny was a fighter and never gave up. She slowly began making progress and went home on the 21st. Soon, she began talking and walking too! Everyone was so proud of Destiny. The doctors said she was very lucky and the closest thing to a miracle they had ever seen.

Destiny braved her many rounds of chemo and blood and platelet transfusions. In November she had a PET scan showing more “live” tumor. She was sent to Cook Children’s in Ft Worth and had a 6 hour surgery to remove the tumor. Although Destiny and her family were told that the tumor was inoperable, they never gave up hope and pushed through with the surgery. Her doctor successfully removed 99.9% of the tumor.

We are so happy to say that our little angel Destiny will be in remission 3 years in November. She started 3rd grade this year and is as happy as can be. She is a miracle and loved so dearly by everyone. Destiny is Living The Dream!
